PayPal finally in the Philippines

Yes and maybe not! before you shout for joy! Although PayPal enabled their services for pinoy and pinay in the Philippines but in a very limited fashion, hopefully just for the time being.  You wouldn’t get the usual PayPal (sending/receiving money) full features that you normally get if you’re a PayPal user in the US. PayPal for the Philippines, a petition blog has this issues thoroughly discussed, spearheaded by J. Angelo Racoma.

I agree with Angelo’s blog about how things gets complicated when it comes to electronic payment specially in Philippines settings that’s maybe the reason why PayPal doing baby steps. But, you could still sign up (please do) for a complete PayPal services in the Philippines on the banner below.

I read an article in Philadephia inquirer about how easy it is these days to send cash or remit dollars back to your home country just using your phone.

One of the news featured is a Filipina and her experience using these new way of remitting money to the Philippines.

With cell-phone use booming across the developing world, from the open deserts of Africa to Bandoy’s densely populated neighborhood in sultry Manila, handsets that cost as little as $30 are enabling struggling nations to leapfrog past the need for land-line phones and ATMs.
