Multiply Lands Ad Deal with ABS-CBN

multiplylogo.jpg
TechCrunch, the tech blog giant reported that ABS-CBN Interactive managed to ink a deal with social network Multiply. Maybe ABS-CBN is starting to take noticed the online behavior of Pinoys specially the OFWs that’s why they’re jumping into social networking. Im thinking now maybe GMA-7 will follow this time with Facebook?

The Philippines is one of the most pronounced examples of their large international following. Alexa ranks Multiply as the 5th largest site in the Philippines - with more than 2 million unique monthly visitors. We had earlier reported that 39% of the site’s traffic comes from the Philippines. Therefore it’s no surprise that they’ve managed to land a multi-year ad deal with one of the Philippine’s largest networks, ABS-CBN. ABS-CBN has 67 televisions stations, 19 radio stations, 30 websites and reaches 97% of the Filipinos with televisions. Under terms of the agreement, ABS-CBN interactive will sell advertising and mobile services for Multiply’s Filipino users, with the two companies sharing revenues.

Peso still rising, now at Php43 to US$1

The Philippine Peso Wednesday gained a fresh philippine-peso1.jpgseven-year high of 43.60 to the dollar on the news that interest rate cut by the US Federal Reserve and more remittances coming in from overseas Filipino workers (OFW) and foreign investment inflows into the stock market piling up this long weekend.

OFWs and exporters are asking the Philippine government for dollar rate intervention but no avail. Ohh Bhoy!!

St. Joseph To Sell Your House?

st_joseph.gif
For couple of years now the US housing market is in really bad shape which lead some homeowner turn to St. Joseph in order to sell their house. Yes, the Catholic saint which was long been believed to help with home-related matters (which now may include home sale).

According to some postings and emails that is spreading around the Internet that, burying St. Joseph in the yard of a home for sale attracts prospective home buyer. A good article in WSJ also touch this subject.

Some religious store on the internet are even offering Home Sale Kit, which includes a plastic statue, a prayer card, and an introduction to the St. Joseph home sale practice which they say that the statues are flying off the shelves.

But I think there’s still no substitute for seller who are doing their own assignment like completing all necessary repairs, properly staging the outside appearance of the house and make the interior as neat as possible, adjusting the price that is competitive with market value and of course, lots of prayer.

Dollar Remittance to The Philippine for only US $1 flat fee

Pinoy abroad and OFWs now have another option to send money to the Philippines without paying ridiculous fees. The National Cash Card program or N-Cash is a new remittance system offers to Filipinos working and living abroad.

Paez said the basic financial service has two critical aspects: the N-Cash and Cooperative (Coop) Kard that can be used to pay for goods and services purchased from participating merchants or any OneCard Network merchants, as well as for money transfer to and from family, friends and relatives here and abroad; cell phone loading; discounts and giveaways; and, most importantly, access to a potentially unlimited source of cooperative business opportunities for the member.

Kawawa naman si Miss (if this really happen), maybe she is just a newbie or poorly trained on how to handle this kind of situation.

PayPal finally in the Philippines

Yes and maybe not! before you shout for joy! Although PayPal enabled their services for pinoy and pinay in the Philippines but in a very limited fashion, hopefully just for the time being.  You wouldn’t get the usual PayPal (sending/receiving money) full features that you normally get if you’re a PayPal user in the US. PayPal for the Philippines, a petition blog has this issues thoroughly discussed, spearheaded by J. Angelo Racoma.

I agree with Angelo’s blog about how things gets complicated when it comes to electronic payment specially in Philippines settings that’s maybe the reason why PayPal doing baby steps. But, you could still sign up (please do) for a complete PayPal services in the Philippines on the banner below.

Free software

Have you ever tried downloading a software for trial version or a freeware but ended-up getting tons of emails after you’ve registered or worst the freeware is actually a trojan/spyware which makes your computing life no easier. I found this website where you can download freeware or utilities with some sort or security in-place.

Nonags is the safest place on the Internet to download free software from. Before we list anything here we check for viruses, trojans, spyware etc. And even if we find something clean, it still has to pass our special “cheesetest” which for obvious reasons we do not publish exact specs.

Check it out!! nonags.com
